Event Government Dental College and Hospital Nagpur Signed Unique MOU For Holistic Approach Of Oral Health Reaching out to Unreached Is the Motto of Government Dental college and Hospital Nagpur With the visionary of Dean Dr Abhay Datarkar Memorandum of Understanding MOU With VED VIGNAN MAHA VIDYA PEETH Vidarbha Ashram, Dahegaon, Art of Living was signed . Government Dental college & Hospital is always primed to give Diagnosis and treatment of Oral Health to Most underprivileged strata of the society specially Rural Population . Same will be available at Vidarbh Ashram Dahegaon for the devotees and rural population around the Ashram once in a year. For this VVMV Vidarbh Ashram will ensure their community participation for smooth conduction of these activities. Uniqueness of MOU is that the Students will learn the Holistic Living aspect which will help them for developing the Healthy Lifestyle, and the patient will get Quality Treatment through the team of Expert .

Event WORSHOP ON ‘TEACHING-LEARNING METHODS’ AS FACULTY DEVELOPMENT AT GDCH, NAGPUR Government Dental College and Hospital, Nagpur is one of the prestigious dental institutes producing excellent teachers, academicians and researchers in the faculty of dentistry. Development and training are the continuous and systematic process. Any institution’s future depends on their faculty’s knowledge, skills and expertise. The process of training should necessarily be directed to build attitude towards teaching and developing teaching skills and give every faculty a sense of professionalism, excellence. So, faculty development program is essential to achieve institution’s major and long-term goals. The Teaching-Learning methods have drastically changed in present time. They have to be student centered and technology based.The four days long Capacity building and faculty development , workshop on Teaching-learning methods was organised at GDCH, Nagpur.The Aim was to strengthen the faculty profile and Teaching-Learning process. All the faculties of GDCH participated in the workshop.The workshop was inaugurated on 24th June, with opening session by Dr. Shubada Gade (DMMC, Nagpur). Dr Sunita Vagha ( DMIMS, Wardha ) explained on Self Directed Learning. The 1st July session on Qualitative studies, Power of Feedback as TL tool, and Problem based learning in dentistry were taken by Dr. Rakhi Tripathi ( KEM Mumbai ), Dr. Swapnali Kadam ( RG Medical College, Thane ), Dr Saee Deshmukh ( VSPM, Nagpur ) respectively.Brigadier B K Varghese delivered on Simulators as TL tool on 8th July. On the same day Dramatics as learning tool and Interactive Classroom Teaching were taken by Dr. Rameshwari Singhal ( King George Medical University, Lucknow) and Dr Veena Nayak (Kasturba medical college, Manipal ) respectively.15th July was the concluding session. Dr. Chinmay Saha, a well known national faculty from GMC, Bhavnagar took extensive session of 4 hours on ‘ Use of Technology in creating E content ‘. The Dean Dr. Abhay Datarkar talked on the e – learning, facilities in College and on planning of “Blended learning” for institute. Dr Varsha Manekar co-ordinated and arranged this program under guidance of Dean of GDCH. She explained the implementation of new teaching learning module planned for the institute. Dr. Bhad and Dr. Vandana Gadve worked for the program.

On auspicious occasion of Guru purnima and 55th foundation day of Government Dental College and Hospital Nagpur blood donation camp was organised in the memory of late Dr.Hoosen Hafejee by NSS unit of GDCH NAGPUR.

A Huge Total of 40 blood donations were collected by blood bank GMCH NAGPUR.The gethering was addressed by Dean Dr.Abhay Datarkar and motivated by Dr. Pradeep Bulate , Incharged blood bank. Dr. Manjusha Warhadpande and All HODs , staff & students graced the occasion. Most of staff including Dr.akshay , Dr. Shubhangi, Dr. Parag, Dr. Archana , Dr. Niharika, Dr. Sulekha, Dr. Rathod, Dr.madhura and All the students Donated blood. Program was conducted by NSS incharge Dr. Yogesh Rathod & vote of thanks was given by Dr. Sachin khatri.

Event Antiragging awareness workshop- Jagruti 2021-22 Date: 11th and 12th July 2022 Ragging is a menace in many institutions. To protect the students and make them aware of Ragging consequences ANTIRAGGING AWARENESS WORKSHOP- JAGRUTI 2021-2022 was conducted for I BDS & II BDS students. Workshop was conducted by Academic Curriculum Committee under the guidance of Dean Dr. Abhay Datarkar, Vice Dean Academic Dr. Wasundhara Bhad, UG Incharge Dr. Suryakant Deogade working Committee includes Dr. Jyoti Wankhade, Dr. Akshay Dhoble, Dr. Damayanti Walkey with all the Committee members. Workshop started with Dean’s address followed by lecture on ” Curbing Menace of Ragging in Dental Institution” by Executive Committee member and Chairman Antiragging Dental Council of India Prof. Dr. S.K. Katharia. UGC Antiragging posters were displayed in the Auditorium for awareness. ROLE PLAY of II BDS on Antiragging awareness was very informative. Dean, vice Dean, all HOD’S and teaching facilities with all the students took Antiragging Awareness pledge. Dr. Darshan Dakshindas explained importance of communication skills to avoid consequences through his mesmerizing lecture. Dr. Manish Thakre guided students of stress management in students life, Dr. Shweta Gangotri explained mentorship programs and Dr. Akshay Dhoble highlighted importance of grievance Redressal cell. Dr. Jyoti Wankhade introduced all the speakers to students and Miss. Riddhi I BDS student proposed vote of Thanks. I AND II BDS students took active participation in organization and participation in Jagruti 2021-22.

Event Painting young minds with the colours of dentistry The first BDS Induction ceremony – Jagruti 2021 for batch 2021-2022, organized on 11/07/22 was held at the auditorium of Government Dental College and Hospital, Nagpur. The ceremony, hosted by Academic Curriculum Committee. Wasundhara Bhad, Dr. Suryakant Deogade ( Incharge UG), Dr. Jyoti Wankhade And Dr. Akshay Dhoble, it was graced by the presence of all heads of departments, teaching staff as well as the first and second BDS students.   The event started off with an informative session by Dr Akshay Dhoble Sir where he meticulously familiarized the students with the MUHS university curriculum. He also called on first BDS students, Anjali Shende and Abhishek Vishwakarma to present the university dress code in English as well as Marathi.   The stage was passed over to first BDS students who showcased a role play on their lives before and after they stepped through the gates of GDCH Nagpur.   A first year BDS student Nisihta Chimani shed light upon the accomplishments of our respected Dean Sir, Dr Abhay Datarkar. Dr. Abhay Datarkarsir (Dean) not only gave a heartwarming welcome to the students but also mentioned the rules and regulations of the college with a dose of the motivational tale at the end.   Deans Sir’s address was followed up by the vice Dean Ma’am ,Dr Wasundhra Bhad.  She inspired students with the living example of dean sir who once walked these halls as a student and now walks as the dean of this prestigious institute.   Dr Mangesh Phadnaik Sir, vice dean of the institute offered a warm welcome and felicitation to first year BDS students for becoming a part of the GDCH Family.   Soon after, Dr Jyoti Wankhade introduced the esteemed faculty of GMC and GDCH to the students, who also introduced themselves to their respected teachers and seniors. Teachers took interest in students’ hobbies which varied from singing and poetry to sports and martial arts. The event ended with a cordial meeting between faculty and parents of the 1st BDS student.
