NIDACON- 2022 – GDC, Nagpur bagged maximum prizes

Event Nidicon 2022 – GDC Indian Dental Association (IDA),Nagpur branch organized NIDACON 2022,Central India’s biggest Dental conference dated 8th,9th and 10th April 2022. Additional Tribal Commissioner, Nagpur Division, Ravindra Thakre was present at the Inaugural ceremony. A total of 14 noted speakers from various parts of the country delivered lectures on the occasion. More than 650 registered delegates were part of the conference while more than 200 delegates presented their papers and e-posters.On 8th of April, preconference courses were organized at GDCH, Nagpur. It consisted of Table top preparation/fabrication of Inlay Onlay, Overlay and Table top by Dr. Shiv Shankar, Rotary Endodontics along with 3D Obturation, Demo cum hands- on by Dr. Nitin Jogad and Rotary Endodontics simplified by Dr. Prashant Bhasin. Approximately 60 delegates were benefitted by the Pre-conference course at GDC,Nagpur. In addition, GDC, Nagpur emerged as a champion at NIDACON-2022. Post graduate students Dr.Mayuri Ghike, Dr.Yugandhara Desurkar, Dr. Apurva Dashputra and Dr.Shreya Korambeth won prizes in paper presentation. Undergraduate students Mr.Ankit Bapat bagged 1st prize in UG paper presentation and Miss. Astha Jathar won 2nd prize in UG poster presentation. It was a huge success for GDC, Nagpur.

A state level research conference for Undergraduate students

Event A state level research conference for Undergraduate A state level research conference for Undergraduate students, “FATHOM 1.0” was organised by GDCH Ngp on 28-29th March 2022. The conference was a huge success with over 450 participants from more than 15 dental institutions. The inaugural ceremony was graced by hon’ble VC MUHS, Lt. Gen. Dr. Madhuri Kanitkar (retd). The guest of honours were Dr. Raj Gajbhiye, Dean, GMC Ngp and Dr. Sanjiv Chaudhari, MUHS regional coordinator. The galaxy of eminent speakers who joined on the online offline format enthralled the participants with a variety of topics. The highlights of the conference were the table top clinics, paper and poster presentation competitions. The Best College participation trophy was won by SPDC, Sawangi. All the delegates and organisers thoroughly enjoyed this knowledge feast.

Event Maharashtra State Chapter Conference At the 8th Maharashtra State Chapter Conference by Association of Oral and maxillofacial surgeons of India held in Ahmednagar from 7-9 April Dr Arwa Pardiwala has secured 1st place in paper presentation category along with Dr IC Dudani Award for the topic Post surgery Masticatory functional efficiency in patients with TMJ ankylosis Release – a prospective study Dr Priyanka Relan has secured 2nd position in paper presentation category for the topic – evaluation of the use of peripheral intravenous catheters for single puncture Arthrocentesis of TMJ – a novel modification

Virtual Mobility Programme

Event Virtual Mobility Programme Globalization has affected all aspects of life and dentistry is no exception. To educate students with global standards of dentistry, Inbound Student mobility program (virtual) was organized for students of Government Dental College and Hospital Nagpur by School of dentistry, International Medical University, Malaysia from 14th March to 25th March 2022. The aim of the student mobility programme is to deepen knowledge of subjects relevant to the undergraduate dental curriculum, that are of particular interest to students, in different clinical and cultural environments.Under Esteemed guidance of Visionary Dean, Dr. Abhay Datarkar and officer incharges Dr. Darshan Dakshindas and Dr. Damyanti Walkey, 10 students participated and were able to achieve the learning outcomes mentioned prior to start of the program. plan treatment for single tooth implant using advanced treatment modalities.Program was coordinated by Dr. Smita Nimbalkar. All the presenters were from School of dentistry , IMU Malaysia – named Prof Dr Seow Liang Lin, Dr Smita Nimbalkar, Dr Umer Daood, Dr. Abhishek Parolia, Dr. Kiran Rehman, Dr. Pravinkumar Patil, Dr. Rohit Menon, Dr. Sivkumar Arunachalam, and Dr. Ranjit Bapat.Concluding session was scheduled on 25th March 2022 , 11:15am IST, the students benefited by Global Learning Standards for first time,Participants got to learn about Implant planning and advanced technologies, complications in implant dentistry, diagnosis and treatment planning in endodontics, esthetic rehabilitation, orthodontic case analysis and management and virtual OSCE was most important tool utilized for learning.

Special Camp

Event Special Camp A Week long oral health awareness is being observed at Government Dental college and Hospital Nagpur, NSS Unit of Government Dental college playing a major role through its special camp services at rural schools at narsala, Nagpur. Apart from oral health checkups, medicines, treatments to needy NSS doing social activities like Tree plantation, school premises cleanness drive, Door to door education and motivation in narsala rural area Nagpur. Special thanks to Dean Dr. Abhay Datarkar, Prof. Head Dr.Manjusha Warhadpande for allowing and motivating dental students to serve society, Thanks to Mr. Nilesh Sontakke principal Satya sai High school for giving opportunity for organizing Camp. Dr. Sachin khatri, Dr. Jyoti Wankhede, Dr. Kalpak Peter, along with All students of GDCH are taking part in camp. Program officer Dr. Yogesh Rathod is looking after all the arrangements.
