One of the busiest departments of the college, the Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics aims at “Increasing the life span of teeth” by accurate diagnosis & treatment of dental caries and its sequel, teeth malformations and discolorations, thereby restoring the teeth to full function in an aesthetically pleasing manner. This department caters to the various functional and aesthetic dental treatment needs of the patients like root canal treatment, endodontic surgeries, and metallic/non-metallic and aesthetic restorations. Well organized and quality dental treatment procedures ensures a regular flow of patients for clinical training, skills development and research requirements during the clinical phase for both the undergraduate and post graduate students.

One of the oldest department in the college, this department came into existence in the year 1968 and post-graduation (MDS) was started in the year 1982. The department is also a recognized PhD centre. The mission of the department is to promote health care, provide standard education and excellence in patient management. The department is fully equipped with facilities such as Digital Radiography, Thermoplasticized gutta percha system, Rotary endodontic system, Power bleaching unit, LED light curing unit, Endosonics and a complete ceramics lab, Dental LASER and Dental Operating Microscope.

Hygienic patient care is imparted throughout. Proper disposable materials, universal aseptic precautions with strict infection control measures are followed for operator and patient safety. Regular fumigation of the department is performed twice every week to ensure high level of sterilisation and disinfection.

The department is endowed with a dedicated and experienced faculty, all of whom are committed to excellence in education, patient care, scholarly activity, and research. Special emphasis is also laid on attending, participating and conducting continuing professional development programs to enhance and enrich professional knowledge.
