Strategic Plan (2017-2021)
- The Government Dental College and Hospital, Nagpur (GDCHN) was established in the year 1968, with the intake capacity of 30 seats for the BDS course.
- MDS programme was started in 1981 with intake capacity of 2 seats and in 1985 GDCHN started MDS programme in most of the specialities. PhD programme was started in 2014 in few specialities.
- Introduce and strengthen academic programs at all levels.
- Innovative and interdisciplinary activities for Post Graduates.
- Increase in Under-Graduate seats from 50 to 63.
- Increase in Post Graduate seats from 2 to 3 in each department.

- Creating awareness about ill-effects of tobacco among rural masses of Central India.
- Institute will be working on oral health screening, awareness and treatment for almost 30,000 tribal Ashram schools & Hostel students in Gadchiroli district.
